Reading the waveform
Tall parts are loud, flat parts are quiet. A sentence looks like a run of bumps with a flat gap before the next one. Put each handle in a flat gap and the cut will not land in the middle of a word.
Cut an audio file down to the part you want and download it in the same format.
Files up to 100 MB and 60 minutes long.
Your file is deleted from our server as soon as the result is made, and the result 15 minutes later.
Add your file to begin. The result shows here.
Film the episode and Studio cuts the retakes and long pauses across the whole recording.
The Studio free plan takes recordings up to 2 GB and edits the whole thing: retakes and pauses out, captions in.

A cut made while sound is playing can leave a small click. If you hear one, move the handle a fraction into the silence, or add a quarter-second fade with the audio fade tool.
An MP3 comes back as an MP3, a WAV as a WAV. A compressed format is encoded again when it is saved, so trim once from your original instead of trimming a trim.
Yes. Trim to the 20 to 30 seconds you want and choose M4A for an iPhone or MP3 for Android.
Trim the part before it and the part after it, then put them together with the audio joiner.
The picture is drawn for files up to 60 MB and 30 minutes. Larger files still trim: use the player and the two buttons, or type the times.
Extract the sound first with video to MP3, or trim the video itself with the video trimmer.
Add a fade in, a fade out, or both to an audio file, with separate lengths.
Bring a recording to a standard loudness, such as -16 LUFS for podcasts, and see the measured before and after.
