    How to join video clips

    1. Add 2 to 12 clipsSelect them together or add them one by one. The total length shows under the list.
    2. Put them in orderUse Up and Down on each file. The video plays in the order shown.
    3. Choose the frameSame as the first clip, or a fixed landscape, vertical or square size. Clips of another shape get bars, a blurred background, or are cropped to fill.

    Getting a good result

    Mixing clips from different cameras

Clips from a phone, a webcam and a screen recorder differ in size, frame rate and sound format. Gluing them together as they are produces a file that stutters or loses sound at each join. This tool converts every clip to one size, 30 frames a second and stereo sound first, then joins them. A clip with no sound gets silence, so the next clip's audio starts on time.

    Straight cuts

The clips are joined with a straight cut. To soften the very start or end, add a fade with the fade tool afterwards.

Joining takes of the same line

If the clips are several attempts at the same script, joining them all gives a video full of restarts. Studio keeps the last complete take of each line and cuts the earlier ones.

    00:40Questions

    Video joiner: common questions

How many clips can I join?

From 2 to 12, with a combined size of 100 MB and a combined length of 5 minutes.

What size is the joined video?

By default, the size of your first clip, up to 1920 pixels on its longer side. You can also choose 1920 × 1080, 1280 × 720, 1080 × 1920 or 1080 × 1080.

    Can I add transitions?

Not here. The joins are straight cuts.

Will the sound stay in sync?

Yes. All sound is converted to the same sample rate before joining, which is what prevents drift.
