    Getting a good result

    How the colors are found

The tool groups the image's pixels into clusters of similar color and reports the average of each cluster, largest first. So you get the colors the picture is really made of, such as a muted blue-grey, instead of the nearest named color.

    Using a palette in video

Pull your brand color out of your logo and use the same code for captions, title cards and thumbnail text, so everything you publish looks like it belongs together. Each swatch also says whether white or black text is easier to read on it.

    Close, not exact

A photo of a red wall holds thousands of slightly different reds, and the result is their average. For a logo saved as a flat PNG the values are very close to the real ones. For the exact brand codes, the brand guide is the authority.

    00:40Questions

    Color palette extractor: common questions

    Is my image uploaded?

No. The colors are counted in your browser.

What do hex, RGB and HSL mean?

Three ways to write the same color. Hex (#D65131) is what design and video tools ask for. RGB is its red, green and blue parts. HSL is hue, saturation and lightness, which is easier to adjust by hand.

Why does the same image always give the same palette?

The grouping starts from fixed points instead of random ones, so results are repeatable.

    Making videos, not just images?

Upload the raw recording. Studio cuts the ums, retakes and long pauses, adds captions and makes short clips. 30 free minutes, no card.
