    How to add text to a video

    1. Add your videoThe preview shows the text as you type it.
    2. Type your textUp to 200 characters on up to four lines. Press Enter for a new line.
    3. Set position, size and colorTop, middle or bottom. A dark or light box behind the text keeps it readable over any picture.

    Getting a good result

    Text people can read on a phone

    Most video is watched on a screen the size of a hand. Use Large or Extra large for a title, keep a line under about 30 characters, and put a box behind the words whenever the picture behind them is busy or changes.

    Keep clear of the platform's buttons

    On Reels, Shorts and TikTok the bottom fifth and the right edge are covered by the caption, the profile name and the action buttons. A title placed at the top or in the middle stays visible.

    Alphabets it can draw

    Latin letters with accents, Cyrillic and Devanagari (Hindi, Marathi). Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and emoji are not supported yet, and the tool says so instead of drawing empty boxes.

    Can I add more than one piece of text?

    Which font is used?

    Montserrat SemiBold for Latin and Cyrillic text, and Noto Sans Devanagari for Hindi.

    Can the text move or animate?

    No. It appears and disappears at the times you set.

    How do I caption everything that is said?

    That is a job for captions: make a caption file with the transcriber, then burn it in with add subtitles to video.
