Getting a good result

Why the script is at the top

A laptop's camera sits above the screen. Text at the top is as close to the lens as it can be, so your eyes stay near it and you appear to look at the viewer. Sit an arm's length or more away: the further back you are, the smaller the angle between the text and the lens.

Pace in words a minute

The scroll speed is worked out from your script's length, so the text reaches its end in exactly the time those words take at the pace you set. If you fall behind, pause, breathe, and resume.

Write for the ear

A script read aloud needs shorter sentences than one read silently. Put a line break where you would breathe. Write numbers the way you will say them.
