Getting a good result

How a wide camera makes a tall video

A webcam's picture is wide. This recorder keeps the middle slice of it at 9:16 and records only that, so there is no cropping to do afterwards. With a 1080p camera the result is 1080 × 1920; with a 720p camera it is 720 × 1280.

Framing for vertical

Sit closer than you would for a call: head and shoulders should fill the frame. Keep your eyes in the top third. Leave the bottom fifth free of anything important, because Reels, Shorts and TikTok draw the caption and buttons there.
